WELCOME TO PUZZLES-ONLINE-NICHE

Social Emotional Brain Training is important , though it is difficult to measure or quantify, we hope these exercises can make you more self-aware.

CHOICES:

This scenario is to measure your response to a hypothetical situation.

There are no right or wrong answers. You will be presented with the scenario and then some possible solutions. ( This test was administered to some minimum-security prisoners and some MBA

students as well, so see how you compare with these two groups).

1] DOWNSIZING-(Social Emotional Brain Training exercise 1)

Mr Stanton has been a long-time , faithful employee at ABC consultants. He works in the computer

technology department as a salesmen. Basically his job entails contacting current clients and

up-selling them to the latest technology, while buying back their old equipment and sending

it to the engineering department for refurbishment and resale.

Mr Stanton was once a top salesmen , but lately his productivity has been slipping.

As a matter of record his commissions have become lower than some of the

brand-new sales employees.

Part of the problem may be that at his age, 62, he just might not be up to speed on the

new technologies, or relate to the new engineers at our current client's locale.

His sales route now includes a lot of ethnic diversity (Mr Stanton is white), so maybe we should

consider hiring more minorities for his sales route.

Though still a capable and diligent employee, the upper management team feels he

is no longer worthy of his base salary.

What would you do if you were told by your supervisor to pressure Mr. Stanton into early retirement

in order to:

i) make room for new employees

(a) Just do it. (b) Lightly protest, but still do it. (c) Transfer or demote him. (d) Suggest early retirement, but don't pressure him. (e) Just not do it- Hey it is not right!! (f) Just not do it- Doesn't sound legally right.

ii) make room for a member of a minority race

(a) Just do it. (b) Lightly protest, but still do it. (c) Transfer or demote him. (d) Suggest early retirement, but don't pressure him. (e) Just not do it- Hey it is not right!! (f) Just not do it- Doesn't sound legally right.

iii) save the firm the cost of paying his full retirement

(a) Just do it. (b) Lightly protest, but still do it. (c) Transfer or demote him. (d) Suggest early retirement, but don't pressure him. (e) Just not do it- Hey it is not right!! (f) Just not do it- Doesn't sound legally right.
